Malcolm Tullett (Managing). 20 years experience in Fire Service attaining the position of senior officer, with direct responsibility for a busy metropolitan fire safety department and operations in a densely populated inner-city area. He was involved in health and safety issues and accident investigations, including a multiple fatality. Since 1993 he has been involved in freelance Fire and Safety activities and since 1997, when he started IRM, has provided general health & safety advice and training to a wide range of organisations, together with a specialist, technical, fire safety consultancy. He has also been a lead and specialist tutor for the National Examination Board for Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH), in addition to sitting on a number of British Standards Institute (BSI) committees and is currently a Trustee of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and sits on the Health and Safety Policy Advisory Group of the Institution of Engineering and Technology.
Melanie Trafford (Support Services). Has worked for the company for over 7 years, in a number of roles starting in Sales and Marketing, Client Liaison and Project Co-ordination up to her current position. Her role is to support everyone in the variety of services offered, liasing between client, trainers and consultants to ensure that people, information and equipment is in the right place at the right time. Mel is also responsible for office administration and seeking investors in people accreditation.
Mark Eaton (Business Improvement). Started his career in design engineering and has held numerous senior positions in industry, before becoming the Director of Consultancy for a major UK Trade Association, in which role he was also Director of a major DTI programme and a number of other public programmes. Mark was awarded the Viscount Nuffield Medal for his contribution to UK Industry in 2004.
Elspeth Grant (Disability Access). Honed her skills as a project manager, delivering multi-million pound IT and change management programmes, for clients in the retail, finance, local government and transportation sectors. She now specialises in disability discrimination issues and is highly experienced in providing complete solutions for clients with multiple property portfolios. Elspeth sits on the Guildford Borough Access Committee, writes regularly in the FM press on disability issues and presents to forums such as the BIFM.
Alan Perrior (Fire and General Safety). Over 20 years experience in the Fire Service. He has a wealth of operational and training experience both in Local Authority and private Fire Services and specialises in Breathing Apparatus, Confined Spaces, Casualty Extrication, Manual Handling and Fire fighting instruction. He has attended the Fire Service College and has seven years Fire Safety experience including the implementation of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order. He is an experienced Fire Risk Assessor and Fire Safety Trainer. He started with IRM as a Site Safety Supervisor, in charge of safety and rescue teams, providing risk management cover for high-risk operations (e.g. confined spaces, working at height and over water, etc) but is now responsible for overseeing the Fire Safety intervention undertaken by the company.
Peter Bailey (Fire Safety Engineering). Over 30 years in the Fire Service, during which time he acquired a Fire Engineering Degree and retired, in 2006, as a senior officer, with direct responsibility for Community Fire Safety.
Jerry Mapp (General Safety). Started his career with British Telecom as a systems technician for 9yrs, during which time he joined theTerritorial Army and served for over 10 years. Since then Jerry had over 20yrs police service, before specialising in Health and Safety in 1998, after being trained, in the subject, by the Metropolitan Police Federation. He is recently experienced in the construction industry and the safety management of events.
Sessional employees and associates. IRM also directly employ about 20 persons who are called upon on an 'as needed' basis, which ensures flexibility of the workforce, sustainable business development, instant, or at least rapid, response and fully insured, professional service provision. The range of skills and qualifications extend from operatives, highly experienced general technical experts, environmentalists, registered safety practitioners, fire engineers, security specialists and disaster management experts. Where specialist expertise is required outside of the resources available within IRM, (e.g. food hygiene, railway, arero and marine etc.) a network of like-minded associates, capable of delivering the service quality required, is available and these organisations are always required to prove their own competence and to carry appropriate levels of insurance.
